Odnos knjižničarjev v slovenskih knjižnicah do dezinformacij : magistrsko delo

Abstract
Knjižničarji so pogosto izpostavljeni kot informacijski strokovnjaki na področju dezinformacij. Kljub temu odnos knjižničarjev, zaposlenih v knjižnicah v Sloveniji, do dezinformacij, ostaja neraziskano področje. Izvedli smo anketo z vprašanji o njihovih stališčih do dezinformacij, izkušnjah in vzorcih ravnanja z njimi ter kompetencah in izobraževalnih navadah. Anketa, namenjena polno zaposlenim strokovnim knjižničarskim delavcem, je bila aktivna med 28. 10. in 1. 12. 2024. Nanjo je odgovorilo 609 anketirancev. Po končani anketi smo aprila 2025 opravili polstrukturirane intervjuje z izbranimi 6 knjižničarji iz vzorca ankete, namen katerih je bilo dobiti globlje odgovore na vprašanja in pojasniti nekatere nejasnosti. Rezultati so prikazali pomanjkljivosti v opredelitvi dezinformacij in nasploh neenotno uporabo terminologije med knjižničarji. Kljub temu je bilo mogoče zaznati pretežno razumevanje resnosti problema in potrebe po njegovem naslavljanju v skladu z knjižničarsko etiko. Velik del vprašanih knjižničarjev se ne izobražuje na področju dezinformacij (56 %) in ni bil predhodno seznanjen z osnovnimi smernicami za njihovo prepoznavanje (67 %). Knjižničarji so pri pregledovanju spletnih virov najbolj pozorni na avtorja, način pisanja in vire. Z raziskavo se je pokazala potreba po poenotenju terminologije na institucionalni ravni ter po krepitvi formalnega izobraževanja knjižničarjev na področju dezinformacij in po večji raziskanosti področja nasploh.

Title:Attitudes of Librarians in Slovenian Libraries towards Disinformation
Abstract:
Librarians are often shown as information experts on disinformation. Despite this, the area of attitudes of librarians, employed in libraries in Slovenia, towards disinformation, remains unexplored. We conducted a survey with questions on their stances towards disinformation, experiences and behavioural patterns in handling them, as well as competencies and educational habits. The survey, meant for full-time professional library workers, was active between 28. 10. and 1. 12. 2024, 609 respondents answered. After the finished survey, we conducted half-structured interviews in April 2025 with 6 chosen librarians from the survey sample, whose goal was to get deeper answers to the questions and explain some ambiguity. The results showed shortcomings in definitions of disinformation and an overall inconsistent use of terminology among librarians. Despite this, a prevailing awareness of the seriousness of the problem and the need for its addressing according to library ethics was noticeable. A great number of questioned librarians don’t educate themselves on disinformation (56%) and weren’t previously aware of the basic guidelines for their recognition (67%). While examining web sources, librarians are most attentive to the author, style of writing and sources. The research showed a need for a unified terminology on an institutional level as well as reinforcement of formal education of librarians regarding disinformation and a greater exploration of the subject as a whole.
