Abstract
Diplomsko delo obravnava Fernanda Pessoo kot pesnika in ga primerja z njegovim osrednjim heteronimom Albertom Caeirom.

Title:Who is Pessoa?: An insight into Fernando Pessoa's heteronymic poetry
Abstract:
The thesis examines Fernando Pessoa as a poet in the collection The Message and compares him with the central heteronym Alberto Caeiro. First, Pessoa's poetic voice, as heard during his lifetime, is presented, telling the story of Portuguese history and predicting its future. The poet recognizes the national situation of his time as critical and announces that the time has come for the prophesied hour when King Sebastian will return. In doing so, he both evokes and embodies the Sebastianist myth, which is directly related to the myth of the Fifth Empire. Through the introduction of the concept of heteronymy, Pessoa's polypersonality is explored, equipped with argumentative attempts to find the cause of the poet's invention. In the analysis of heteronyms, Alberto Caeiro, the spiritual leader and mentor of the other heteronyms (and the poet himself), is at the forefront. His philosophy reveals a key part of Pessoa's consciousness, which is necessary to answer the question "Who is ‘Pessoa’?"
