Abstract
Mestni toplotni otok (MTO) je pojav, pri katerem so temperature v urbanem območju višje kot v njegovi podeželski okolici. Pojavi se kot posledica urbanizacije, goste pozidave ter manjšega deleža vegetacije. Diplomsko delo obravnava pojav mestnega toplotnega otoka v Ilirski Bistrici, ki je primer manjšega mesta. Do naše raziskave konkretnih terenskih meritev še ni bilo izvedenih. Predhodno je bil že dokazan z uporabo satelitskih posnetkov. Z različnimi metodami merjenja sem zbrala podatke z uporabo stacionarnih in maršrutnih meritev, ki sem jih izvedla v različnih delih leta 2025. Cilj raziskave je bil potrditi obstoj MTO in določiti najbolj topla območja znotraj mesta. Preučila sem tudi vpliv antropogenih virov na višjo temperaturo mest ter predloge za njihovo zmanjšanje.

Title:Urban heat island of Ilirska Bistrica
Abstract:
The urban heat island (UHI) is a phenomenon in which temperatures in an urban area are higher than in its surrounding rural environment. It occurs as a result of urbanization, dense built-up areas, and a smaller proportion of vegetation. This thesis addresses the phenomenon of the urban heat island in Ilirska Bistrica, which is an example of a smaller town. Before our research, no concrete field measurements had been conducted; the phenomenon had previously been demonstrated using satellite images. Using various measurement methods, I collected data through stationary and route-based measurements, which I conducted in different parts of the year 2025. The aim of the research was to confirm the existence of the UHI and to identify the warmest areas within the town. I also examined the influence of anthropogenic sources on higher urban temperatures and proposed measures to reduce them.
