In the bachelor's thesis, we compared the spontaneous and scripted speech of the president of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, based on prosodic analysis. We analyzed a recording of the speaker’s 2024 interview on the RTS 2 channel (Drugi program Radio-televizije Srbije) and a recording of the opening and closing parts of her speech at the ceremony held during the 35th Dobrote slovenskih kmetij festival, also from 2024. The first recording featured spontaneous speech, while the second featured scripted speech. We were interested in the extent to which prosodic parameters differ depending on the type of speech, and especially how these differences are reflected in the speech of an experienced public speaker. The analysis focused on four key parameters: pauses, speech and articulation rate, voice pitch and timbre. Using the Praat program, we conducted an analysis of our recordings, beginning with the number of pauses, followed by a comparative analysis of speech and articulation rate. Finally, we compared the values of frequencies F0, F3 and F4 which provided us with data on voice pitch and timbre.
