Vpliv digitalnih medijev na bralno kulturo mladih : diplomsko delo

Abstract
Tehnologija je v zadnjem desetletju močno spremenila življenja ljudi, kar pa je zaznamovalo tudi njihov način branja, učenja in razmišljanja. V svoji diplomski nalogi se posvečam vplivom digitalnih medijev na bralno kulturo mladih. Raziskava je bila izvedena na osnovi anketnega vprašalnika, s katerim sem preučevala bralne navade mladih, razumevanje prebranega, dejavnike, ki vplivajo na kakovost njihove pozornosti med branjem, ritem branja ter vlogo digitalnih medijev v njihovem izobraževanju. Ugotovitve kažejo, da večina mladih še vedno preferira tiskane knjige pred e-bralniki, čeprav jih večinoma ne berejo redno (manj kot enkrat na mesec). Tudi kakovost pozornosti se spreminja glede na medij, s katerega mladi berejo – izkazalo se je, da lahko dlje časa ohranjajo pozornost pri branju tiskanih medijev v primerjavi z digitalnimi napravami. Digitalni mediji predstavljajo izzive pri razumevanju, saj zasloni in razne motnje zlahka ovirajo koncentracijo, hkrati pa ponujajo različne prednosti, kot so interaktivnost in dostopnost do obsežnih informacij. Ritem branja naj bi bil hitrejši med branjem tiskanih medijev ter počasnejši med branjem digitalnih naprav. Pri branju z zaslona mlade ovirajo predvsem svetloba, utrujenost oči, oglasi ter težave z velikostjo pisave. Tudi pri učenju ostaja najbolj priljubljen način tiskano gradivo ter ročni zapiski, občasno pa se uporabljajo tudi digitalna orodja. Težave se pojavljajo tudi pri zbranosti med predavanji, saj digitalne naprave odvračajo pozornost od vsebine predavanj. Ključnega pomena je torej vzpostaviti ustrezno ravnovesje med uporabo digitalnih in tiskanih medijev, zlasti pri učenju, saj lahko le to pripomore k ohranjanju zbranosti, v svetu, v katerem lahko digitalne naprave hitro odvrnejo našo pozornost.

Title:The impact of digital media on the reading culture of youth
Abstract:
Over the past decade, technology has profoundly transformed people’s lives, which has also reshaped their ways of reading, learning, and thinking. This thesis explores the impact of digital media on the reading culture of young people. The research was conducted through a survey questionnaire, which examined young people’s reading habits, reading comprehension, factors influencing the quality of their attention while reading, reading pace, and the role of digital media in their education. The findings reveal that most young people still prefer printed books to e-readers, although they tend not to read them regularly (less than once per month). Attention span also varies depending on the medium—participants were able to sustain focus for longer periods when reading printed texts compared to digital devices. Digital media pose challenges to comprehension, as screens and various distractions easily disrupt concentration, yet they also offer advantages such as interactivity and access to vast amounts of information. Reading pace appears to be faster when engaging with printed materials and slower on digital devices. When reading from screens, young people are most hindered by light, eye strain, advertisements, and difficulties related to font size. In the context of learning, printed materials and handwritten notes remain the preferred methods, though digital tools are occasionally used. Issues also arise with concentration during lectures, as digital devices often divert attention away from the content being presented. It is therefore crucial to establish an appropriate balance between the use of digital and print media, particularly in education, as this balance can help maintain focus in a world where digital technologies can so easily distract.
