Uporaba metode fotogrametričnih časovnih vrst za spremljanje sortiranih strukturnih tal v jamskem okolju

Abstract
V prispevku je predstavljen postopek opazovanja delcev na sortiranih strukturnih tleh v kraški jami. Zaradi ponavljajočega zmrzovanja in tajanja lahko pride do sortiranja drobnozrnatega sedimenta ter grušča, ki se razporedita v krožne vzorce. Te reliefne oblike so značilne za hladna okolja brez vegetacije, najdemo pa jih tudi v kraških jamah v Sloveniji. Sortirana strukturna tla so večkrat povezana s procesom krioturbacije, ki je slabo raziskan. Opazovanje premikov delcev na sortiranih strukturnih tleh lahko vodi do pomembnih spoznanj v povezavi s krioturbacijo. Namen članka je analiza primernosti uporabe fotogrametrično izdelanih gostih oblakov točk, ki so bili izdelani na podlagi grajenja strukture iz gibanja, za spremljanje premikov delcev na strukturnih tleh v jami Barka na Snežniški planoti. Na podlagi štirih konvergentnih fotografij sortiranih tal, ki smo jih posneli enkrat dnevno, smo za vsak dan izdelali gost oblak točk in izvedli a nalizo časovne vrste v obdobju od sredine decembra 2022 do sredine junija 2023. Z uporabljeno metodo smo z natančnostjo 2,3 milimetra uspešno zaznali vertikalne premike sedimenta, ki med ciklom zmrzovanja in odtajanja lahko znašajo nekaj centimetrov.

Title:Application of time-series photogrammetry for monitoring of the sorted patterned ground in cave environment
Abstract:
The paper presents a method for observing particles on sorted patterned ground in a karst cave. Due to repeated freeze-thaw cycles, fine-grained sediment and gravel can be sorted and arranged in circular patterns. These landforms are characteristic of cold, vegetation-free environments, but they can also be found in karst caves in Slovenia. Sorted patterned ground is often associated with the process of cryoturbation, which is still poorly understood. Observing particle movements on sorted patterned ground can provide unique insights into the cryoturbation process. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the suitability of photogrammetrically derived dense point clouds, based on Structure from Motion method application, for monitoring particle movements on sorted patterned ground in the Barka cave on the Snežnik Plateau, Slovenia. We used this method to create 3D dense point clouds from four convergent photographs of the sorted circles for each day and performed a time series analysis for the period from mid-December 2022 to mid-June 2023. We successfully detected vertical sediment movements of several centimetres during freeze-thaw cycles within an accuracy of 2.3 mm.
