The thesis is dedicated to the theme of the human being as a relational entity, with a particular emphasis on partnerships. The author was also interested in the interconnections between values and the influence of upbringing on the individual, as well as how these factors affect life, especially in the context of intimate relationships. The thesis is divided into two parts: in the first, theoretical part, the following topics are examined: the concept of love and the meaning of a quality partnership, an overview of upbringing and parenting styles, and the definition of educational goals. The field of values and premarital preparation for marriage, as well as the effectiveness of such preparation in relation to the aforementioned topics, are also explored.
In the second, empirical part, the author employed an analytical research method by designing a survey targeting young people between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five. The study identified their perspectives on upbringing, partnership, marriage, values, goals, and the ways in which individuals interconnect these dimensions. The aim of the survey was to obtain young people’s opinions regarding their expectations of premarital preparation and to investigate whether they would in fact participate in such programs.
