In my thesis, I will compare the science fiction novel Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky brothers with Andrei Tarkovsky's film Stalker and Andrej Blatnik's postmodern novel Plamenice in solze. The comparative analysis will focus on the protagonists, motifs and structures of all three works, in order to identify similarities and differences on various literary levels. The Strugatskys' novel serves as the primary text, partially reflected in Tarkovskys's film, while Blatnik's novel emerges as a product of the influense of both earlier works.
