Abstract

Title:An anthropological-literary study of everyday life on the border between Gorizia and Nova Gorica after 2004
Abstract:
In her master thesis the author evaluates the cross-border area Nova Gorica - Gorica and presents the development of the border in the area. She further presents the construction of Nova Gorica, currently the youngest Slovenian city, and continues with individual, group and institutional cross-border practices in everyday life and presents them with examples of interlocutors living in the cross-border area. In addition, it analyses and presents the work Stanca morta by Elena De Vecchi from Trieste and evaluates the examples of cross-border practices in the area, that she has traced in the work. In the thesis the author explores how the border between Gorizia and Nova Gorica influences the practices of the people living in the area, which is also reflected in the novel Stanca morta, which sets the story in this geographical area.
