Vključevanje dejavnosti spodbujanja samostojnosti otrok s slepoto in slabovidnostjo v program počitniškega tabora : magistrsko delo

Abstract
Otroci s slepoto in slabovidnostjo se soočajo s specifičnimi razvojnimi izzivi, ki vplivajo na njihovo učenje, orientacijo, delo in socialno interakcijo. Zaradi omejenega naključnega učenja in učenja z opazovanjem in posnemanjem, je pri otrocih s slepoto in slabovidnostjo ključno načrtno in sistematično vpeljevanje učenja veščin samostojnosti. V magistrskem delu so predstavljeni koncepti slepote in slabovidnosti in njun vpliv na otrokov razvoj, samostojnost ter pristopi, strategije in prilagoditve, ki se uporabljajo pri delu z osebami s slepoto in slabovidnostjo ter pomen učnih okolij pri razvijanju samostojnosti. Magistrsko delo obravnava raziskovalno vprašanje, kako vpeljevanje načrtnega treninga izbranih spretnosti ob posluževanju z dokazi podprtih pristopov vpliva na napredek v razvoju teh spretnosti pri otrocih tekom trajanja tabora. Za namene raziskave je bil uporabljen mešan raziskovalni pristop, ki je združeval kvantitativno in kvalitativno metodologijo, vključno z multiplo študijo primera, opazovanjem in razgovorom. Vzorec so sestavljali trije osnovnošolski otroci s slepoto ali slabovidnostjo, vključeni v program osnovnošolskega izobraževanja s prilagojenim izvajanjem in dodatno strokovno pomočjo. Izvedba treninga izbranih veščin samostojnosti je temeljila na z dokazi podprtih pristopih dela, kot so analiza naloge, vizualna podpora, pomoč z vodenjem in podporo (fizično in verbalno) in krepitve (pozitivne podkrepitve). Analiza rezultatov je pokazala učinkovitost izbranih pristopov dela v okolju poletnega tabora pri usvajanju izbranih veščin.

Title:Teaching independent living skills to children with visual impairments as part of the summer camp programme
Abstract:
Children with blindness and visual impairment face specific developmental challenges that affect their learning, orientation, work and social interaction. Because of limited incidental learning and learning through observation and imitation, it is crucial for children with blindness and visual impairment to deliberately and systematically introduce the learning of independence skills. In the master’s thesis, the concepts of blindness and visual impairment are presented along with their impact on the child’s development, independence and the approaches, strategies and adaptations used when working with persons who are blind or visually impaired, as well as the importance of learning environments in developing independence. The master’s thesis addresses the research question of how the introduction of planned training of selected skills using evidence‑based practices influences progress in the development of these skills in children during the summer camp. A mixed research approach was used, combining quantitative and qualitative methodology, including a multiple case study, observation and interviews. The sample consisted of three primary school children who were blind or visually impaired, enrolled in a primary school education program with adapted implementation and additional professional support. The implementation of training in selected independence skills was based on evidence‑based practices such as task analysis, visual support, prompting (physical and verbal prompts), and reinforcement (positive reinforcement).
