Abstract
V diplomski nalogi predstavimo izziv izvajanja dolgotrajnih opravil v spletnih aplikacijah. Cilj diplomske naloge je razvoj spletne aplikacije, ki obdeluje dolgotrajna opravila s pomočjo sporočilne vrste ter hkrati uporabnika obvešča o napredku izvedbe naloge v realnem času. Najprej identificiramo tri glavne pristope k izvajanju dolgotrajnih opravil v spletnih aplikacijah ter predstavimo njihove prednosti in slabosti. Nato opišemo primer implementacije takšne spletne aplikacije s sporočilno vrsto. Predstavimo delovanje aplikacije, arhitekturo sistema ter predstavimo uporabljene tehnologije. Na koncu predstavimo še vrednotenje rešitve, kjer s testom dokažemo, da smo dosegli zastavljeni cilj ter predstavimo možnosti za izboljšave.

Title:Executing long-running tasks in web applications using message queues
Abstract:
In this diploma thesis, we present the challenge of implementing long-running tasks in web applications. The goal of the thesis is to develop a web application that processes long-running tasks using a message queue and at the same time informs the user about the progress of the task in real time. First, we identify three main approaches to implementing long-running tasks in web applications and present their advantages and disadvantages. Then, we describe an example of implementing such a web application with a message queue. We present the operation of the application, the system architecture, and the technologies used. Finally, we present the evaluation of the solution, where we prove with a test that we have achieved the set goal and present possibilities for improvement.
