Razvoj viole v goslarski obrti in njen pomen v glasbi od italijanske renesanse do 19. stoletja : magistrska naloga

Viola, pogosto prezrta v zgodovini godal, je bila pomemben del glasbene prakse že v 16. stoletju. V nalogi sta opisana njena pot in razvoj od spremljevalnega glasbila v ansamblih in orkestrih do samostojnega koncertnega instrumenta s prepoznavno glasbeno identiteto. Poseben poudarek je na dveh ključnih središčih izdelave godal – Cremoni in Bresci – ter na delovanju najpomembnejših mojstrov tistega časa, ki so z inovacijami prispevali k razvoju glasbila.

• Title: The development of the viola in lutherie and its significance in music from the italian renaissance to the 19th Century

Abstract

The viola, often overlooked in the history of string instruments, has been an important part of musical practice since the 16th century. This paper traces its journey and development from an accompanying instrument in ensembles and orchestras to an independent concert instrument with a distinctive musical identity. Special emphasis is placed on two key centers of string instrument making – Cremona and Brescia – as well as on the work of the most important masters of the time and how their innovations contributed to the viola’s evolution.
