The master’s thesis explores the development of trade union and workers’ tourism, with particular emphasis on enterprises in Ajdovščina, while also situating the phenomenon within the broader republican and national context. The research draws on archival materials, newspapers, and oral testimonies to illuminate the diverse forms of trade union and workers’ tourism, their organization and financing, and their significance for employees in Ajdovščina. Special attention is devoted to the social dimension of these practices. Statistical data are employed to trace the rise and decline of both forms of social tourism and to evaluate their potential relevance in the context of a possible revival.
