Modularnost kot urbanistično kompozicijski princip : oblikovanje ambienta z opeko na primeru soseske v Kranju

Diplomska naloga obravnava temo zasnove manjše soseske v Kranju ob Savi, ki je postavljena na mreži po principih modularnosti in strukturalizma. Skozi primere znanih strukturalistov in modularnega oblikovanja je predstavljena ideja, iz katere izhaja koncept diplomskega dela. V teoretskem delu je predstavljena zgodovina, uporaba in pomen opeke kot materiala ter pomembnega elementa oblikovanja ambienta. Ta predstavlja unikaten gradnik za urejanje tako odprtih prostorov kot fasad. Opeka ima navezavo s samo lokacijo v Kranju saj so v bližini mesta pridobivali glino, s čimer se sodobnost poveže z zgodovino in tradicijo. Predstavljeno je tudi navezovanje na uporabo opeke skozi ustvarjenje Edvarda Ravnikarja, delujočega v Kranju in njegovih sodobnikov.

• Title: Modularity as an urban composition principle : designing ambience with bricks on the example of a neighbourhood in Kranj

Abstract

The thesis deals with the design of a small neighbourhood in Kranj by the Sava River, based on a grid according to the principles of modularity and structuralism. Through examples of famous structuralists and modular design, the idea from which the concept of the thesis is derived is presented. The theoretical part presents the history, use, and significance of bricks as a material and an important element in the design of the environment. It is a unique building block for the design of both open spaces and facades. Brick has a connection with the location of Kranj itself, as clay was extracted near the town, thus linking modernity with history and tradition. It also presents a link to the use of brick through the work of Edvard Ravnikar, working in Kranj, and his contemporaries.
