Abstract

Title:The impact of the film industry on tourism in New Zealand
Abstract:
The thesis studies the influence of the film industry on tourism in New Zealand, with a focus on the connection between film productions and the development of tourism products. The purpose of the research was to examine how films influence destination recognition, what are the economic and cultural effects of film tourism, and what are the challenges local communities are facing. The theoretical part presents the concepts of cultural and film tourism, the history of tourism in New Zealand, and the development of the film industry in the country. Special attention is given to examples of successful film locations, such as Hobbiton, Fiordland, and Queenstown. With a survey of people who visited New Zealand, we studied the role of film locations in choosing the travel destination. The work concludes with a review of the possibilities for future development of film tourism, which involves local communities and maintains a balance between promotion, experience, and environmental protection.
