The thesis deals with various support systems used in the construction of bridges, viaducts, and overpasses. At the beginning of the thesis, the most important technologies for construction of superstructures are presented, including shoring with support towers, incremental launching, cantilever construction, segmental arch construction, composite bridge construction and span-by-span construction. The choice of construction method always depends on the specific constraints and requirements of the project in question. The choice of construction technique is mainly influenced by the geometric requirements of the structure, the specific terrain characteristics, the required support height, the span length, the loadbearing capacity and the time and economic constraints of the project. The main part of the thesis focuses on the presentation of the modular support systems offered by the main manufacturers of formwork systems and construction support scaffolding on the Slovenian market; these include Acrow, Doka, Faresin, Hünnebeck, Meva, Peri, and Ulma. Various types of shoring systems are described, designed for both smaller and larger loads, as well as shoring structures that allow flexible adaptation to accommodate different construction requirements and complex structural geometries.
