Abstract
Cilj magistrske naloge je bil raziskati učinkovitost potresnega utrjevanja zidanih konstrukcije z maltnimi oblogami, armiranimi z mrežami iz steklenih vlaken in preveriti ustreznost metodologije projektiranja, ki je bila razvita v projektu PRO-SIS. Iz projekta CONSTRAIN smo imeli podatke o osmih strižnotlačnih testih slopov in sedmih testih nadokenskih zidov. Na podlagi teh eksperimentov smo razvili in validirali homogeni nelinearni numerični model v programu Abaqus. Numerični model uporablja enake materialne parametre za vseh petnajst eksperimentov, zato daje tej raziskavi in razvitemu modelu večjo vrednost. Poleg tega ocenjujemo, da je model primeren za parametrično analizo, ki smo jo naredili v nadaljevanju, kjer smo podrobneje preučili učinkovitost prej opisanega načina utrjevanja zidov. Rezultati potrjujejo učinkovitost enostranskega utrjevanja, ki je pomembno zaradi lažje izvedbe utrjevanja potresno ogroženih stanovanjskih in drugih stavb, med katerimi so tudi spomeniško zaščitene. Dodatno rezultati analiz potrjujejo, da je postopek projektiranja razvit v projektu PRO-SIS ustrezen.

Title:Numerical analysis of seismic behaviour of masonry strengthened by mortar coating and GFRP mesh : master thesis
Abstract:
The main goal of this master's thesis was to study the effectiveness of seismic strengthening of masonry structural elements (piers and spandrels) with glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) mesh-reinforced lime-based mortar overlays. As a part of the PRO-SIS project, we developed a homogeneous nonlinear numerical model in Abaqus, which we validated using eight experimental tests on masonry piers and seven tests on masonry spandrels conducted within the CONSTRAIN project. The numerical model uses the same material parameters for all fifteen experiments, which adds greater value to this research and the developed model. We also believe that the model is suitable for the parametric analysis conducted later in the study, where we examined in detail the effectiveness of the described strengthening method. The results confirm the effectiveness of one-sided strengthening, which is paramount for the easier execution of strengthening seismically vulnerable residential and other buildings, including heritage-protected ones. Additionally, the analysis results confirm that the design procedure developed in the PRO-SIS project is appropriate.
