The art market in Slovenia is small, unexplored and unregulated. It consists of various stakeholders whose actions significantly influence the entry of young artists into the market. The aim of my master's thesis is to research and understand the factors that influence the entry of young artists into the market, with an emphasis on the role of gallerists and curators. In the theoretical part, I first explained the concept of art from the perspective of sociological theories, then I presented the characteristics of the art market in Slovenia and defined the concept of a young artist. I focused in more detail on the discussion of stakeholders, especially gallerists and curators, and their support for young artists into the art market in Slovenia. In the empirical part, I conducted research where I tried to discover which factors influence the entry of young artists into the art market. I conducted 6 semi-structured interviews with gallerists, curators and young artists. The results indicate that the entry of young artists is significantly influenced by their experience, education, use of digital tools, and their connections with gallerists and curators who enable them to exhibit and sell their artworks.
