In my thesis, I addressed the water quality of the Tolminka River. I wanted to determine the water quality and how it is influenced by various geographical factors, primarily socially and geographically conditioned pressures in the watershed. I checked this through the analysis of selected physicochemical parameters of water quality: nitrites, phosphates, nitrates, sulfates, chlorides, and ammonia as well as pH, water hardness, conductivity, and oxygen content and saturation. I was also interested in the change in water quality at different locations from the source to the confluence with the Soča River, and which geographical factors have an impact on it. I found that the water quality of the Tolminka River is good, as as elevated concentrations of the analyzed physico-chemical parameters, which could indicate river pollution, were not measured.. The change in water quality from the source to the confluence is small; the water is of better quality at the source, with changes then occurring at locations where there is a change in physical or socio-geographical factors.
