The idea about a comic, that talks about a specific event in Partisan's hospital Pavla developed
gradually. At first the story's protagonist was supposed to be unnamed nurse on the war front,
and the story would be adapted after a classic fairytale. Later my focus shifted to homefront,
specificaly secret Partisans hospitals. The more research I've done, the more I became
interested in the topic and so the decision was made to illustrate a comic. Fairytale story base
was replaced with a real story from 1944 in SVPB Pavla. With this comic I want to shed light
on an interesting piece of Slovenian history that the general audience might not be familiar
with and I don't want it to be forgotten. I'm going to research the field of narrative (sequential)
illustration and with it comics, the properties of comics and how they are created. On a basis
of a written tale by Pavla Jerina Lah I will modify her story so that it will fit the medium of
comics and it's conditions. I will commit special attention to research of secret Partisans
hospitals on Slovene ground, so I can put the story into the most authentic setting possible.
I'm gonna be interested in how the atmosphere in the comic influences the reader's
understanding of the moment. Story is a thriller, so I will also research the properties of the
genre. My final product is going to be a publication.
