Based on the historical urban development of Ljubljana, the spatial connectivity and accessibility of the city, and the description of the existing social dynamics in the city, the master's thesis explores the social impact of placing the Ljubljana Passenger Center on the edge of the city center. As an extension of it, Passenger Center will, in its primary, i.e. transport function, establish an intermodal public passenger transport hub and enable better connectivity of the city, while the commercial part will offer residential, business and tourist units, as well as smaller retail stores and a shopping center. In this work I wonder how the new urban unit will affect relationships and display of power in space, what are the possibilities for implementing comprehensive transport strategies for the city, and whether it will be able to create new social dynamics that would relieve the city center. When thinking about possible scenarios of social development of this area, I conclude that the new urban arrangement on one hand offers an exceptional opportunity to improve Ljubljana's transport connectivity and thus relieve the city center in this aspect, while on the other hand, it would be able to demonstrate the dominance of private capital in the rest of the offer, which would result in the spread of gentrification and further social separation of space. This will be manifested primarily in the area of residential and business units, while a greater degree of consideration of public interest is expected in the areas of consumption and fluidity of users.
