The purpose of this work was to find out how many different wild plant species are used in the rural households of the municipality of Logatec. We were interested in how wild plants were used and what is their meaning to people. We wanted to find out how much knowledge people in the municipality of Logatec have about this topic and how they incorporate it into their everyday lives. The research was designed in the form of a survey. We were in contact with the respondents by visiting farms and making a phone call. We found out that the respondents use 57 wild plants from 34 botanical families. The most collected plant was English ivy (Hedera helix). Nettle (Urtica sp.) had the highest use value. All respondents use wild plants for religious purposes, some of them for medicinal purposes, for food, cosmetics, for plant spray, fertilizers and for veterinary purposes. Plants are usually collected near people's homes. Respondents are gathering most of plants after the dew or during the day in less polluted areas. Respondents have gained most of their knowledge about plant identification and usability from their ancestors. The most important for respondents when gathering wild plants was to relax in nature.
