This thesis describes the process of planning and designing a domain environment. The purpose of the thesis is to present the design and features of Active Directory, the functions of Group Policies and the creation and management of domain users.
We used Oracle VirtualBox software for the virtualisation of a Windows Server and Windows client environment. We built a test Domain Controller and Active Directory environment, which were tested on the aforementioned Windows computer. We also examined the configuration of DNS (Domain Name System), specifically how to set up a static IP address, which is required for the correct functioning of our Domain Controller.
There is also a brief description of the integration of the Domain Controller with Linux and macOS environments.
