In my master's thesis, I researched the design of a virtual world through the medium of a video game. The main goal was to design and implement my own video game to the point where players can move around in it with their main character, perform basic tasks and interactions, and experience the first levels of the game. I will start in general with the design of video games, and then we will proceed on to more artistic topics, such as the design of environments in video games, which I will also discuss in more detail. In addition to the theoretical content, I will also describe the implementation of these theories that I used in the practical part of the thesis. I hope that this will enable an easier understanding of the content and insight into what worked better and what less.
