The master’s thesis examines the equipment used by forestry service providers listed
on the Moj Gozdar website in the Central Slovenia region. The main aim was to determine, through a survey of business entities (n = 33), what types of machinery are used by various providers. Related to these findings, we also investigated the technical
characteristics of the machines, the organizational structure of the businesses, the scope and status of the services offered, the number of machines owned, machinery
depreciation, and overall capacity of the businesses. Most of the entities are registered
as sole proprietors (17). With the exception of cable logging and forest construction,
all other services are available. Several discrepancies were observed between the
activities listed on Moj Gozdar and the actual services provided. The research includes
a total of 213 machines. We found that chainsaws of the brand Stihl dominate in logging operations (70%), while John Deere holds the largest market share among tractors (32%). Chainsaws and brushcutters are most frequently replaced within the depreciation period. The results are useful for service seekers, decision-makers involved in machinery purchasing, as well as for the surveyed business entities themselves, as each participant is guaranteed at least one listing on the Moj Gozdar platform, thereby increasing the practical value for users of the portal.
