The diploma project addresses the issue of handling hazardous materials in international transport, where safe storage and transportation play a crucial role. It presents the basic concepts, classification of hazardous substances, legal framework and regulations, as well as procedures and documentation required for handling hazardous materials.
It is important that all participants in the processes of handling hazardous materials receive appropriate training and that all necessary safety measures are taken even before transport begins. In the theoretical part, the diploma project examines the types of hazardous substances and their classification, the legal framework for their transport and storage, as well as procedures for responding to accidents. Furthermore, safety guidelines and preventive measures are presented, through which risks can be significantly reduced. The final part includes an overview of known accident cases that illustrate the consequences of improper handling of hazardous materials for people and the environment.
The project’s final findings conclude that most accidents result from human error, inadequate equipment, or lack of supervision. Through proper handling, regular employee training, and the use of modern safety technologies, risks can be substantially reduced, ensuring greater safety for people, the environment, and property.
