Abstract
V eksperimentalnem delu so bile uporabljene tri osnovne tekstilne tehnike: ročno tkanje kot simbol preteklosti in tradicije, ročno tiskanje motivov, navdihnjenih s starimi fotografijami, in strojno vezenje motivov, povezanih s tradicionalnimi makedonskimi tekstilnimi obrtmi.

Title:Textile installation inspired by Macedonian folklore
Abstract:
The thesis explored the theme of Macedonian folklore as a basis for creating a textile for an installation. Folklore is a vibrant field, as it combines songs, stories, customs, rituals, and other material that is passed down from generation to generation. Its significance stems from the people who were part of it and contributed to its creation and development in their own way. In addition to Macedonian folklore, the concept of nostalgia was also connected to the topic. The aim of the thesis was to combine both themes and create a textile installation inspired by Macedonian textile art and personal memories, such as old photographs. The goal of this work was to combine hand and machine techniques to demonstrate that traditional values can be preserved with contemporary textile approaches. Three basic textile techniques were used in the experimental part: hand weaving as a symbol of the past and tradition, hand printing of motifs inspired by old photographs, and machine embroidery of motifs related to traditional Macedonian textile crafts. The result is a textile that symbolically represents the connection between personal memories, family tradition, and cultural heritage. The process also resulted in personal growth and an emotional connection to the past. The installation was placed in a natural environment, allowing the viewer to interpret the textiles emotionally and physically. The installation is not final and leaves room for interpretation in terms of form, atmosphere, and space.
