Abstract

Title:Website design for The posh cookie
Abstract:
In today's world, website design is increasingly important for its success. The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the design of a website for The Posh Cookie (in continuation TPC). The research aimed to design a user-friendly website that would consolidate key information for customers in one place and simplify the ordering of personalized handmade cookies. In the experimental part comprehensive market research was first conducted. This included an informational meeting with the client to define her goals, wishes and needs, an analysis of domestic and foreign competitors, focusing on their websites, and an analysis of previous advertising on social media. Target users and the main task of the product - ensuring information accessibility and simplifying ordering – were defined. The software used for design was Figma, with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for graphic elements. Design planning involved creating wireframes, static prototypes, and interactive prototypes. Special attention was given to responsive design for smartphone screens, where elements were adapted considering dimensions, typography and navigation. Prototypes were tested internally and with the client, incorporating suggestions for improvements regarding colour contrast and accessibility. As a result of the process, prototypes for desktop and mobile devices were developed, meeting the client's aesthetic requirements. The main challenge, which was with the order form requiring extensive data, was resolved by dividing the form into steps, thus improving the user experience. Following client confirmation, the prototypes were handed over to programmers for implementation, leading to the successful launch of TPC website. It was concluded that thorough user needs research and an iterative design and testing process are crucial for developing a functional and user-friendly digital product.
