Abstract

Title:Potential of energy storage systems for voltage regulation in low-voltage networks
Abstract:
Due to the increased load on the electricity distribution network, which causes voltage drops and surges, issues arise in maintaining the voltage within the legally prescribed limits. One of the potential solutions is the use of energy storage systems, which limit voltage fluctuations and improve the quality of supply. This master’s thesis presents an analysis of the required parameters of storage systems in the low-voltage network of Elektro Gorenjska, along with an assessment of the economic feasibility of their use. It turns out that in many cases, solving voltage issues with battery energy storage systems is economically much more advantageous than traditional network reinforcement measures.
