This thesis presents the development of a system for industrial process control using a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) platform in the iFIX programming environment. The main aim was to improve the efficiency and transparency of HMI (Human Machine Interface) screen creation. The key challenge addressed was the time-consuming and errorprone manual development of HMI screens, which becomes a major issue in large and complex projects.
The implementation was based on process structuring according to the ISA-88 standard, as well as the development of a custom system for the use of Dynamo objects, which enable standardized and repeated use of graphical elements. VBA (ang. Visual Basic for Applications) scripts were integrated for automated tag modifications, allowing rapid adaptation and centralized control of graphical components. The work included designing screens based on P&ID (ang. Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) diagrams, implementing solutions in the iFIX environment, and testing them using FAT and SAT procedures.
The results show that the introduction of Dynamo objects significantly reduces the time required to develop HMI screens, lowers the possibility of errors, and simplifies system maintenance. The main conclusion of the thesis is that the automated approach using Dynamo objects is particularly suitable for large-scale and demanding industrial projects, where standardization and flexibility of the solution are of key importance.
