In this masters thesis, we will present the operation and construction of an
ultrasonic anemometer. An anemometer is a device for measuring wind speed and
direction, used at airports, wind farms, and weather stations. The aim of this
thesis is to review the operating mechanisms of different types of anemometers,
with an emphasis on ultrasonic anemometers, and to design and build our own
anemometer using a microcontroller from the STM32 series.
