Abstract
Funkcionalna varnost je pomemben vidik pri razvoju varnostno-kritičnih sistemov, katerih nepravilno delovanje lahko predstavlja nevarnost in s tem tveganje za poškodbe ali smrt ljudi. Varnostno-kritični sistemi in komponente so praviloma prisotni v sistemih, kot so letala, medicinske naprave in avtomobili. Cilj funkcionalne varnosti je zmanjšanje tveganja za nevarnost zaradi okvar sistemov na sprejemljiv nivo, določen glede na tveganje, ki ga lahko okvara sistema povzroči. Ta naloga se osredotoča na zagotavljanje funkcionalne varnosti električnih sistemov cestnih vozil, upoštevajoč mednarodni standard za funkcionalno varnost električnih in elektronskih sistemov cestnih vozil ISO 26262. Osrednja tema naloge je razvoj koncepta funkcionalne varnosti sistema za krmiljenje motorja s funkcijo varnega izklopa motorja (STO), katerega namen je vgradnja v avtomobilu v sklopu sistema za čiščenje LiDAR senzorja. LiDAR senzor je uporabljen za razpoznavo okolice ob uporabi prilagodljivega tempomata (ACC) in se ga smatra za varnostno-kritičen element vozila. Neželeno delovanje sistema za čiščenje LiDAR senzorja ima lahko negativen vpliv na delovanje samega LiDAR senzorja, zato mora krmilnik s funkcijo varnega izklopa ustrezati primernim nivojem funkcionalne varnosti, kot navaja ISO 26262.

Title:Development of a motor controller with safe shutdown function according to Standard ISO 26262
Abstract:
Functional safety is an important aspect in development of safety-critical systems, unintended behavior of which can present risk of injury or death of humans. Safety-critical systems are prevalent in systems such as airplanes, medical devices and cars. The goal of functional safety is reduction of risk caused by malfunctions of a system to an acceptable level, defined by the potential risk induced by a system malfunction. This thesis focuses on ensuring functional safety of electrical systems of road vehicles, based on the international standard for functional safety of road vehicles ISO 26262. The thesis is centered around the development of a motor control system with safe torque-off (STO) function, which is intended to be used in a car as a part of the LiDAR sensor cleaning system. LiDAR sensor is used for surroundings recognition for adaptive cruise control (ACC) and is considered to be a safety-critical element of the vehicle. Malfunctioning bahaviour of the LiDAR cleaning system may have a negative impact on operation of the LiDAR sensor, therefore, it should conform to appropriate functional safety levels as defined by ISO 26262.
