Abstract

Title:The Use of Decentralised Identities in a Decentralised Buildings' Logbook
Abstract:
Building information plays a pivotal role in the maintenance, management, and safety of facilities, so it is essential that such data be reliable, verifiable, and accessible to authorised stakeholders. This master’s thesis addresses the challenge of ensuring data integrity and control in a digital building log by leveraging decentralised technologies. We conduct an in-depth analysis of the OriginTrail Decentralised Knowledge Graph (DKG), the ONCHAINID identity-management system, and the ERC-3643 standard for permissioned-token access control. Based on this analysis, we devise a solution that allows each user to modify only those records for which they hold the appropriate credentials, thereby guaranteeing traceability, transparency, and distributed accountability. The outcome is a functional prototype that enables secure, decentralised, and authorised management of building information using blockchain technology.
