The thesis presents a contemporary urban clothing collection that explores the connection between garments and metal jewelry. The design was inspired by the characteristics of medieval knight armor.
The theoretical part includes an analysis of the historical development of armor, its technological specifics, and its social and symbolic meanings. Special attention was given to the anthropological, cultural, and psychological functions of clothing and jewelry as protective or identity-defining markers.
The experimental part features an original collection created by combining garments with jewelry. The entire design process is described, from the conceptual starting point to the choice of materials and production techniques. The project involved metal-forming methods and the construction of aluminum structures, which were combined with textile components.
The results of the experimental work demonstrate that the fusion of clothing and jewelry can lead to visually and conceptually strong solutions that transcend traditional boundaries between fashion design and jewelry design. The collection emphasizes the function of protection while also addressing contemporary interpretations of the body, identity, and power. The conclusions highlight the potential of metal as an expressive medium in contemporary fashion practice and the importance of historical context in the development of innovative design solutions.
