Abstract
Na Fakulteti za strojništvo je bil razvit koncept enomotornega letala za namene prikaza snovanja letala po delih. V diplomski nalogi je bil izdelan virtualni model letala za letenje v simulatorju Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Najprej je predstavljena struktura programa in potrebne lastnosti letala, ki definirajo nov model letala v simulatorju. Nato so izračunane aerodinamične in pogonske karakteristike ter definirana geometrija in masa, ki so vnesene v datoteke za izdelavo virtualnega modela. Model je bil preverjen s testnimi poleti v več režimih. Rezultati so nam pokazali dobro stabilnost in vodljivost letala, vendar težave pri obvladanju zvrta.

Title:Design of a virtual model of the Š1 aircraft for use in a flight simulator
Abstract:
A concept of a single-engine aircraft for the purpose of demonstrating aircraft design by parts was developed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (at the University of Ljubljana). In this thesis a virtual model of an aircraft for flying in the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is designed. First, the structure of the program and the required aircraft characteristics that define the new model of the aircraft in the simulator are specified. Afterwards, the aerodynamic and propulsion characteristics are calculated, and the mass and balance are defined and are then inserted into files for creating a virtual model. The model was tested with test flights in several flight regimes. The results showed good aircraft stability and manoeuvrability; however, they also showed difficulties with controlling the stall mid-turn.
