The master's thesis deals with the issue of normalization of alcohol consumption in Slovenian society, of alcohol as a broader social problem and the parents' attitude towards its use in front of children on the one hand, and the impact it has on their childhood, adolescence and adulthood on the other. Throughout the work we learn about alcohol's acceptance in society, its pitfalls and the presence it has among children and adolescents during their growing up period. It also addresses the parental aspect of understanding, particularly regarding inappropriate music and videos whose contents depict alcohol abuse and which their children encounter at birthday parties or even play to them themselves, without realizing their distinctly negative influence. The chosen literature set a theoretical framework and the analysis of the 16 interviews conducted provided a deeper insight into the parents' behavior. Their actions towards and the acceptance of alcohol have a great influence on the understanding and behavior of their children, for they act as role models in this relationship.
