The diploma thesis presents development of contemporary pattern collection and objects for a hotel bar, with inspiration in Art Déco. For this purpose, the Art Déco period was reaserched in more detail, as well as contemporary designers and modern hotel interiors. The theoretical part presents the history of the period, contemporary designers and hotel interior. The emphesis is on design, especially architecture and interiors. The connection between the era and its contemporary interpretation is presented. Designers are highlighted who draw inspiration from the characteristic aesthetic and design principles of this period and adapt them to contemporary trends and needs. The experimental part includes the process of developmant digital pattern collection and production of products for the hotel bar. The patterns were transferred onto textile ‘canvases’ and into a digital representation of the bar. Various techniques were used: digital printing, jacquard knitting and tuffting. The main artistic starting point is Art Déco architecture.
