Abstract
V okviru diplomskega dela sem raziskovala možnost uporabe glivnega materiala Ganoderme lucidum za odstranjevanje trivalentnega kroma (Cr(III)) iz vodnih raztopin. Glivno biomaso sem predhodno obdelala s štirimi različnimi kemijskimi obdelavami, in sicer z: natrijevim hidrogenkarbonatom (NaHCO$_3$), vodikovim peroksidom (H$_2$O$_2$), etilendiamintetraocetno kislino (EDTA) ter citronsko kislino. Poskusi so bili izvedeni pri dveh začetnih koncentracijah kroma (1 mg/L in 10 mg/L), pri čemer sem preučevala vpliv časa, mase in predobdelave biosorbenta na učinkovitost adsorpcije kovine iz raztopine. Koncentracijo kroma v raztopinah sem določala s pomočjo induktivno sklopljene plazme z optično emisijsko spektrometrijo (ICP-OES) ter atomsko absorpcijsko spektrometrijo (AAS). Na podlagi eksperimentalnih podatkov sem v zadnji fazi izvedla evalvacijo kinetike procesa ter določila Freundlichovo izotermo.

Title:The effect of pretreatment of Ganoderma lucidum fungal biomass for the chromium bioremediation
Abstract:
In this thesis, I studied the potential use of Ganoderma lucidum fungal biomass for the removal of trivalent chromium (Cr(III)) from aqueous solutions. I pretreated the biomass using four different chemical pretreatments: sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO$_3$), hydrogen peroxide (H$_2$O$_2$), ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), and citric acid. Experiments were carried out at two initial chromium concentrations (1 mg/L and 10 mg/L), and the influence of time, biosorbent mass and pretreatment on the efficiency of metal adsorption has been investigated as well. The chromium concentration was determined using inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) and atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). Based on the experimental data, I evaluated the biosorption kinetics, and applied Freundlich isotherm model to describe the adsorption process.
