This thesis examines the role of leadership in modern logistics companies and its impact on employees, organizational culture and climate. The theoretical part presents the fundamental concepts of leadership, the importance of communication, and the creation of a positive working environment. Emphasis is also placed on negative aspects, such as low motivation, employee conflicts, dissatisfaction, and burnout, which are often the result of inadequate leadership.
Following the introductory part, which defines the research problem, purpose and objectives of the thesis, the second section focuses on organizational culture and climate. This part discusses the concepts of organizational culture and climate, methods of measuring organizational climate within a company, and presents a practical case study from the company Intereuropa d.d. In addition, it presents approaches to improving the working climate in logistics companies, such as employee satisfaction surveys, staff meetings, satisfaction indices, and the eNPS method.
The third section addresses workplace issues, particularly those arising from inadequate leadership. Emphasis is also placed on employee’s personality traits, which play an important role in the emergence of such issues.
The fourth section presents the role of motivation and reward systems in preventing undesirable workplace situations. Both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation are considered, as well as employee reward strategies and systems as key factors in creating a successful work environment.
Section five describes the role of leadership in ensuring an appropriate working environment. Different leadership styles are presented and compared.
In the sixth section, a SWOT analysis is used to present strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the democratic leadership style within logistic companies. Key findings and recommendations for enhancing modern leadership practices are also highlighted.
