Abstract

Title:Improving the accessibility of literary materials with additional interactive elements
Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to improve accessibility and motivation for reading literary materials through the use of interactive digital content. Through this project, we discovered that interactive content can enrich the curriculum and increase students' motivation to read. At the same time, we also discovered the importance of accessibility in digital media. The thesis develops an interactive book using the Godot game engine. The thesis includes a story from the curriculum with added illustrations and mini-games. The content of the story is adapted to make it more accessible to users with dyslexia and color blindness. The main contribution of the project is a prototype digital book that encourages reading and understanding of stories in a playful and accessible way.
