In my thesis, I presented the use of artificial intelligence in the optimization and development of hydrogels in biomedicine. Initially, my focus was on hydrogels themselves, their core properties and preparation. Next, I explored the field of artificial intelligence, its subdomains, main learning approaches and different algorithms for data analysis. I also examined the optimization of existing hydrogels including the design of new ones, and highlighted the main challenges encountered in the process. Lastly, I examined different hydrogel applications in biomedicine, such as 3D bioprinting, controlled drug release, wound healing systems and biosensors. The analysis of the optimization of these processes confirmed the advantages of using artificial intelligence and marked the critical importance of its role in the future development of biomedicine.
