The project investigates how minority communities in Lusatia and the Timok Valley articulate memory, identity, and resistance in the face of ecological transformation and extractivist economies. By documenting landscapes, everyday artifacts, bilingual signage, and protest material culture, the research traces the "minor echoes" of suppressed or endangered voices in regions where extractive industries dominate both physical and symbolic space.
The visual material consists of field photographs taken to illustrate both material and symbolic manifestations of cultural and political life. Selection was based on thematic relevance to mining, memory, language, and protest.
