Abstract
V okviru diplomskega dela sem raziskovala povezavo med čustveno inteligenco posameznika in njegovimi medosebnimi odnosi. Pri tem sem se osredotočila na doživljanje, prepoznavanje, razumevanje in nadzorovanje lastnih čustev v različnih medosebnih odnosih študentov socialnega dela. Namen je bil pridobiti poglobljen vpogled v to, kako izkušnje v prijateljskih, družinskih in partnerskih odnosih oblikujejo veščine čustvene inteligence, ki so ključnega pomena za opravljanje poklica na področju socialnega dela. Teoretični del obravnava čustveno inteligenco v povezavi s tesnimi medosebnimi odnosi in konfliktnimi situacijami. V raziskavo je bilo vključenih osem dodiplomskih študentk in študentov 4. letnika Fakultete za socialno delo v Ljubljani, izbranih z neslučajnostnim priložnostnim vzorcem, pri čemer sem za zbiranje podatkov uporabila vodilo za delno standardiziran intervju. Rezultati raziskave kažejo, da posamezniki svojo čustveno inteligenco ocenjujejo na podlagi samorefleksije, izkušenj v medosebnih odnosih in znanja, pridobljenega med študijem. Čustveno izražanje je v prijateljskih odnosih bolj sproščeno, medtem ko so družinski in partnerski odnosi pri izražanju čustev pogosto zaznamovani z ovirami. Na podlagi ugotovitev predlagam uvedbo dodatnih izobraževanj v okviru študija in podpornih skupin za študente, ki bi jim omogočale varno okolje za izražanje čustev in soočanje s čustvenimi stiskami.

Title:Emotional Intelligence and Interpersonal Relationships of Students at the Faculty of Social Work
Abstract:
In the context of my dissertation, I researched the connection between an individual's emotional intelligence and their interpersonal relationships. I focused on experiencing, recognizing, understanding, and managing one's emotions in various interpersonal relationships among social work students. The aim was to gain deeper insight into how experiences in family, romantic, and friendship relationships shape the emotional intelligence skills crucial for practicing the profession of social work. The theoretical section addresses emotional intelligence in relation to close interpersonal relationships and conflict situations. The research involved eight undergraduate students in their 4th year at the Faculty of Social Work in Ljubljana, selected through a non-random convenience sampling method. A partially standardized interview guide was used to collect data. The findings of the study suggest that individuals assess their emotional intelligence based on self-reflection, experiences in interpersonal relationships, and knowledge acquired during their studies. Emotional expression is more relaxed in friendships, while family and romantic relationships are often marked by barriers to emotional expression. Based on these findings, I propose the introduction of additional training within the study program and support groups for students, which would provide a safe environment to express emotions and cope with emotional distress.
