Abstract
Zato so v prenovljeni evropski direktivi o čiščenju komunalne vode EU 2024/3019 določena nova pravila sledenja in odstranjevanja mikropolutantov. Sistem kvartarnega čiščenja komunalne odpadne vode bo sestavljen iz kombinacije v diplomi opisanih postopkov.

Title:Removal of micropollutants from urban wastewater according to revised EU directive.
Abstract:
Nowadays there is a big problem with micropollutants in urban wastewaters, which are results of increase use of drugs. Micropollutants cannot be removed with biological treatment in wastewater treatment plants due to their complex chemical structure. There are now new rules in the revised EU urban wastewater treatment directive EU 2024/3019 for detection and removal of micropollutants. There are 12 micropollutants in the directive, 10 pharmaceuticals and 2 anti-corrosives which are divided into two groups. The directive requires the installation of quaternary treatment for the removal of these micropollutants. Part of quaternary treatment are advance techniques, such as advance oxidation and hybrid processes, adsorption on active carbon and membrane processes. The aim of the thesis is to present the micropollutants covered by the directive and to review the literature in the field of removal of micropollutants from urban wastewater. The thesis presents advanced oxidative processes, adsorption on activated carbon and membrane processes. The advanced oxidative processes presented in the thesis are based on the high oxidative capacity of the hydroxyl radical, for the formation of which ozone, hydrogen peroxide, ultraviolet light, Fenton process and photocatalysis are used. In activated carbon adsorption, the applications of powdered and granular activated carbon are presented. The quaternary treatment system for urban wastewater will consist of a combination of the processes described in the thesis.
