Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava zasnovo in mehansko analizo zaščitnega loka za vozilo Mazda MX-5. V programskem okolju Abaqus sta bila analizirana dva modela, prvi z enojnim indrugi z dvojnim lokom, ob upoštevanju vertikalnih, bočnih ter vzdolžnih obremenitev. Ugotovili smo, da sta vertikalni in bočni pomik pri obeh modelih podobna, medtem ko se je enojni lok zaradi svoje geometrije pri vzdolžni obremenitvi deformiral prekomerno. Rezultat celotnega dela je prikaz mehanskega odziva konstrukcije, njenih pomikov ter napetosti.

Title:Numerical analysis of a vehicle roll bar structure using the finite element method
Abstract:
The diploma thesis addresses the design and mechanical analysis of a roll bar for a Mazda MX-5 vehicle. In the Abaqus environment, two models were analyzed, one with a single hoop and the other with a double hoop design, considering vertical, lateral, and longitudinal loads. It was found that the vertical and lateral displacements were similar for both models, while the single hoop exhibited excessive deformation under longitudinal loading due to its geometry. The outcome of the study presents the mechanical response of the structure, including its displacements and stresses.
