The universal accessibility of the World Wide Web and the rapid advancement of technology have enabled the development of the new forms of media. One of these is also the podcast. With its exsistence, it changed the general understanding of audio-based media and clamed a special spot in media research. The researcher's opinions are not completely alined in regard to the connection between the radio and the podcasts. On one side, they claim the podcast is just an extension of the radio, but on the other side, they demand an independent analysis of the two, even though they share some characteristics. Since the interview is the most popular and frequently represented media genre on both radio and podcast, it represents the base of analysis between the two. Fort he case study, I have chosen Aidea, one of the most popular independent podcats in Slovenia, which is created by Klemen Selakovič. With the help of qualitative content analysis of the three chosen episodes and a semi-structured interview with the author, I have pointed out the key similarities nad differences between the conversation in the podcast Aidea and the theoretical starting points of radio interview. I have analysed the following: conversation structure, questioning techniques, the role of the host, linguistic characteristics, technical specifics, and the process of creation of a podcast episode, from the selection of the interviewees to the final production. The results have shown that there are more differencies than similarities between the conversations in a podcast and interviews on the radio. Even though the podcats are based to a certain extent on the format of the radio interview, they allow a lot more freedom with the design and execution of the conversations. This shows that the podcast is a completely independent and innovative media form.
