The diploma thesis deals with the causes, events and consequences of the Trieste General strike in 1902 through the eyes of political, demographic and economic causes and consequences. The main purpose of the assignment is to show a more detailed picture of the events that took place on the streets of Trieste and its immediate surroundings during the revolutionary February days. Above all, the task is to present a picture of the wider attitude towards the strike, which during the protests fluctuated from solidarity with the striking workers to condemnation and encouragement of the old political struggles that dominated the Trieste political space in the late 19th century, as well as, for example, the polemics of national trends between Slovenian and Italian political camps. During the protests, the latter became more and more dominant on newspaper front pages and in public discourse in both Italy and Austria-Hungary.
