Abstract
The aim of the doctoral thesis is to develop a laser micromachining technique for fabricating functional surface microstructures on magneto responsive materials, known as magnetorheological elastomers (MREs). As part of the doctoral research, studies have been conducted on the state of the art of laser microstructuring technologies, magnetorheological material processing and active surface control techniques. An experimental setup was developed to establish the processing parameters, demonstrating the feasibility of direct laser processing for creating microstructured surfaces. Theoretical and experimental investigations were conducted on lamellar microstructure deflection under static and rotating magnetic fields, highlighting their potential for adaptive surface design. The tuneability of the laser-micromachined surfaces was validated through experiments, showcasing the ability to control the sliding angle of water droplets by varying the orientation of the applied magnetic field and demonstrating the possibility of selective substance transport.

Title:Lasersko strukturiranje magnetoreoloških elastomerov za izdelavo večfunkcijskih pametnih površin
Abstract:
Namen doktorske disertacije je razviti tehniko laserske mikroobdelave za snovanje funkcionalnih površinskih mikrostruktur na magnetoodzivnih materialih, znanih kot magnetoreološki elastomeri (MRE). V okviru doktorskih raziskav so bile izvedene študije stanja tehnike laserske mikroobdelave, obdelave magnetoreoloških kompozitov in tehnik aktivnega nadzora površin. Sinteza spoznanj je omogočila konstruiranje eksperimentalnega sistema ter določitev optimalnih procesnih parametrov za mikroobdelavo MRE-jev. S tem je bila dokazana uporabnost postopka laserske direktne obdelave za izdelavo površinskih mikrostruktur. Teoretične in eksperimentalne analize izdelanih mikrostruktur so bile izvedene na upogljivih lamelnih mikrostrukturah v statičnem in rotirajočem magnetnem polju. Nastavljivost in funkcionalnost lasersko mikroobdelanih površin je bila prikazana z eksperimenti spremembe kota zdrsa vodnih kapljic pri različnih usmeritvah magnetnega polja, ter demonstracije selektivnega transporta snovi.
