The subject of this thesis is the design of a visual identity for a black metal band. The project centers around a recently established personal ambient black metal project named Turoba. The thesis presents the black metal genre, its history and development, its political and social context, as well as its core visual characteristics. It also introduces the concept of visual identity. In the practical part, I combine the research foundations into a final product — the visual identity of the band Turoba, and provide a detailed presentation of its components and
the entire design process. In developing the visual identity, I drew heavily on the genre’s visual history and sought to emulate the authentic aesthetic of the underground black metal scene.
