Abstract
Snemanje in sprotno prikazovanje procesa varjenja je zaradi intenzivne svetlobe, ki jo proces oddaja, težavna naloga. Ni možno določiti parametrov snemanja (čas osvetlitve, odprtost zaslonke...), pri katerih bi na isti sliki bila razločno vidna izredno svetla varilna elektroda in razmeroma temen varjenec. Pri reševanju te naloge smo z industrijsko kamero za vsak končen okvir slike zajeli več slik z različnimi časi osvetlitve. Te slike smo z različnimi algoritmi poskusili sestaviti v eno sliko z visokim dinamičnim razponom (HDR), ki omogoča ogled varjenja v živo. Pri izboru algoritma smo morali biti pozorni na čim bolj kakovosten rezultat in tudi na hitrost izvedbe, ker mora program delovati v realnem času. Varilec bo z uporabo razvitega postopka in programa lahko z varne razdalje na monitorju opazoval varilni proces in z dodatnimi orodji vplival na njegov potek. Pri reševanju razvojnega izziva smo iskali optimalne nastavitve kamere in optimizirali parametre algoritmov, na koncu pa vse to združili v preprost uporabniški vmesnik. Razvili smo tudi nov, prilagojen postopek za izdelavo slike HDR, ki smo ga poimenovali Blur in je prinesel zelo obetavne rezultate.

Title:Real-time visualization of the welding process using high dynamic range video
Abstract:
Recording a welding process is a demanding task due to the intense light, that the process emits. It is not possible to select camera parameters, that would let us clearly see the extremely light welding electrode and a relatively dark object, that is being welded. For our project, we used an industrial camera, with which we used to acquire a few images for each final frame. We merged these images into one high dynamic range (HDR) image, to allow us to observe the welding process in real time. During method selection we had to pay attention both to the quality of the resulting image, as well as to the speed of execution, since the program is expected to run in real time. As a result, welders will be able to monitor the welding operation from a safe distance and will be able to control the welding process with other tools. At the end, we merged everything into a userfriendly interface. During the process, we developed a new adjusted algorithm, called Blur, for real-time HDR generation which yields promising results.
